I DID manage to regain some of my mojo...thanks for all your support through this difficult time. It was still a very fun and relaxing evening and that was the main thing. "Tonic", the show, was great. I made a couple of cards and had some chips and tonic:). Then it was time to turn in. It was the strangest sensation though. I went upstairs and thought it MUST be nearly time to go to bed....and it was only 9:50!!! Nevermind the bursitis, I AM GETTING OLD! So I picked up my book...."The Third Summer in the Pants" and read for a while. Took the dog out and proceeded to get ready for bed. At 11:30 it really WAS time to turn the lights out and THEN...... the phone rang. Holy smokes! A phone call at that time of might can't be good... It was Joe. He wasn't feeling good and was on his way home with one of the other boys, who wasn't able to stay the night (his family was doing something this morning). SO there's my Joe with a splitting headache, which he gets, and I can certainly relate to. If he knew about head-scratches, he certainly would've been asking for one of those!!!! Time for some Advil, and warm up the hot-bags in the mikey, and nominate myself for BEST MOM EVER Award again.
We spent a lovely, relaxing day together, getting some things off our list. Joe had some art homework, which turned out really nice!! And we had to study for grammar....welcome back to the wonderful world of compound predicates. This has been most frustrating for Joe for the last few weeks and we sat down and crammed for an hour or so. There is not always a spirit of cooperation forthcoming from the pupil in this scenario. By the end of the hour, there was some satisfaction that he had mastered the material and that he hadn't let the material master him, a common occurence. Did you know you can download study sheets from the internet?! I sure hope American parts of speech are the same as Canadian!! Anyway, our grasp on the material is much more certain...a quick review on Monday and the test on Tuesday should go well. After all the work was done, Joe even had time to watch a movie and is playing some X-Box. (Maybe he has time to cook supper too???!....)
We listened to Stewart McLean this morning during the art homework and it happened to be the episode where Dave and Morley go to Algonquin Provicial Park to relive their honeymoon. "The Vinyl Cafe" is a favourite around here and even Joe was chuckling, especially since Ray is in Algonquin!! We are hoping that he and Rick are faring better with their tent, the wildlife, and foodpacks, than Dave and his wife Morley!
That's about it for today. I think I will go and finish the card in progress. We have seen hide nor hair of Craig so far. I think he might be helping his friend's grandparents move....we'll hear all about it when he gets home. I hope you are having a great weekend. I love your comments, it's fun to write when you know who might be reading..... love ya!

Saturday night already. Where DO the weekends go? We had a lovely day in Montague today but on the way home Nicolle claimed a head ache too. She seems to get them alot (when she's tired and has had a noisy day). Does it run in the family?
Enjoy church tomorrow and the rest of your day. Talk to ya tomorrow. Love, Karen

Ahh yes, the world of head scratches... or head massages as Isaac prefers to call them (apparently, calling them scratches makes his head itchy) :P
Sounds like you guys had an eventful weekend. I'm sure glad that your cardmaking block didn't last for too long!
Love you and miss our little 'creative sessions'.

Goes to show again, that as a mother you are always on call -
24 -7-, even after they move out.
Once a mother, always a mother.
Which is really a blessing indeed.
Love
Elisabeth
