Our Share

Well....we certainly have had that haven't we....our share of winter. Don't you love it!!!!???
Last year we hardly had any! So this is really cool. There is another storm moving up from the south, and we'll have to see what drops out of the sky as it moves on through. I have about 30kg of salt left and 40kg of calcium chloride. Hope that's enough....

In the Fall, I often find myself dreading the start of winter. But once it's here it's actually kind of nice to get out there and shovel. At least that's what I keep telling myself. I must admit that I prefer it to weeding.

We are having a typical weekend. And things are winding down. I realized that by this time next week I will almost be on my way. Woohoo!!

It was a fun Valentine week around here even though Ray was in Windsor almost all week. He had left little things around the house for me to find, and also left clues on the answering machine as to the whereabouts of different treasures. Some things sat right under my nose!! He buys good chocolate!!! My secret sister bought great chocolate too! That was so fun to find on my stoop! Ray also gave me a movie (A Knight's Tale) and a Best of Roy Orbison CD. He had also cut my favourite crossword out of a newspaper at work for the past week and surprised me with them on one day.... Not all crosswords are created equal so this was SUPER treat! I made Ray a nice roast beef dinner, banana muffins, and oatmeal choc chip muffins. And I took the afternoon off to straighten my hair. Yes, that's how long it takes from washing to final smoothing balm application.... I had to pick him up in London on Friday afternoon because no one from London was in the office. That was a lot of fun with great tunes. We figured out that the car kit for Craig's discman can also be used with an MP3 player. Now I just plug the jack into my MP3 and off I go....

It's the little things......
I'll let you know how the weather turns out.

It is quite a winter. Tomorrow it is supposed to be plus 8 and raining. After having minus eighteen overnight. We did get a bit of sledding in yet this weekend. Pete had the guys over today and they went out a couple of times. I went out with Pete and Rebecca yesterday afternoon. Altough it was very cold, it was a lot of fun.
Hope your salt holds out. Otherwise you have to use sunpower I guess.
See you soon. Love, Randall

awh what a cute little valentine's day presents for you. It's really the thought that counts and when you get something special it is just a wonderful bonus. I'm glad you had a good week! I think I prefer weeding to shoveling... but then... I ike weeding in a wierd sort of way. As long as I have that handy garden tool that Mom has. hehe. love ya! Thanks for everything!

Wow, I am so impressed with Ray's thoughtfulness. Sounds like a lot of fun. Who knew he was such a romantic. He'll have to give Marten some lessons. We didn't even exchange gifts, or cards, or anything. :(

And poor Marten stayed home from Church yesterday and work today. He's not feeling well at all. Say a prayer. We'll be all better for your visit and all those parties we'll have. lol See you SOON. Love, Karen
