Lessons from a Turkey Club

One of the most unexpected surprises of our Wabakimi trip was the drive along the shores of Lake Superior.   Amazing. Glimpses that take your breath away. They end up being indelible moments that you never forget. You craned your neck as far as you could to see to take in the whole view. And a bend in the road or a treeline would take it all away.

Sometimes getting to the destination is half the adventure but we were trying to make good time and as much as we wanted to...we didn't have time to stop.  Isn't life just like that sometimes?

On the way there we didn't want to drive in the dark between Wawa and T'Bay. On the way home, darkness and large wildlife would not be a factor. We planned better...and made time to linger longer. Breakfast at Tim's and a Turkey Club to go. And then we waited for the perfect spot.

A sandwich never tasted so good.  The large wildlife never did materialize but a little lynx ran across our path right after we hit the road.  Serendipity.

Life lesson?  Always leave time for the unplanned and unexpected;flexibility to be spontaneous.
...and always pack a lunch! You just never know why you may need a reason to linger longer....
