Well....that about sums it up. Life has settled back into its predictable routine and that is what I like about it. But then again....eat, shovel, play Scrabble, sleep, eat, shovel, play Scrabble, sleep....
The latest storm is behind us and what fun it was!!! We loved it. A good blizzard and now we have actual snowbanks!!! The one by the back door is as high as my waist. The last time we had such a dump was about 8 years ago coming home from PEI after Christmas. Yes....that was a treat too!
I was glad to have all my lads to help.
The repetitive nature of this routine does make my life appear rather bland. But bland would indicate a lack of crisis, stress, and things like that. For this I am thankful. Bland is okay.
We are currently at the beginning of March Break. The lads are off to the library with a friend and will go skating on some newly discovered park puddles. I remember those days. I decided to take this day off. Totally and thoroughly OFF. I am dressed, had a coffee and am in the midst of a great book. I have one day of painting this week, should clean around the church a bit. But...we are hosting a neighbourhood SuperSaturday at church, which is a one VBS day type program and will clean after it is done. There are a number of sleepovers in the works...but hopefully much playing...maybe some painting will get done in the house.
Most monumental of all. I am blogging from the 'new' office! Ray moved the office on Saturday and I am now sitting opposite the row of windows in the old playroom. The toys that occupied this space have been moved around to other small nooks and crannies, but most of the daycare toys were gone anyway. Now comes the time to refinish the old office and transform it into a guestroom; Joe's new digs while we host our Korean exchange student, Eddy. We need to so a little accoustical insulating to make the room more soundproof. The tv is just two skinny sheets of pannelling away...we'll have to see if something can change that....I think earplugs are a good option...and much less work! 8) Joe is very excited about this change in his life! I'm getting a new bed!! I'm excited about this change in my life. Mind you, we are very excited about hosting a student. We don't know how it will go but we are ready to do our best to make him feel at home and try and show him a bit of our culture and country.... We're not just Canadian but also Dutch...so I think we will do like Dianna and introduce him to boerekool and snert. All the while there is no guarantee he will like our nasi and bahmi...and we may end up eating more noodles and beansprouts. Joe will LOVE that! (I think...) We anticipate that it wont all be smooth sailing and that there will be bumps along the way. We'll see how this set of 10 weeks goes.
My week in PEI was great. I had such a wonderful time seeing everyone so much. For me there is no such thing as tooo much. It was just right. I read a book, made cards, scrubbed a little(for all you know I just left the bottle of MR Clean open and made you THINK I cleaned8), visited, and hung out. I had a great flight home, was met at the airport by Ray and walked into a house that was fragrant with supper. The boys just returned from Cadets and it was such a nice evening. The week that followed was insanely busy and I haven't really stopped until today. That's why it's a day OFF.
Recommended reading for all you addicted people....anything by Charles Martin, "The Dead Don't Dance", "When Crickets Cry", "Chasing Fireflies" and the sequel to The Dead, "Maggie".
I just read "Skin" by Ted Dekker and found out the trilogy that follows "Black", "Red", and ''White" is out. The first one is called "Chosen" and came out last month...the next one is "Infidel"....
I also read "A Candle in the Darkness" by Lynn Austin...but it's a bit older already....
I have to go and feed my addicition now...I have been reading the blogs and see that it is going around. One day I will get into LOST but that time is not upon me yet....

Hey, I missed you. I'm so glad you blogged again. Sounds like life is repetitive but good. You'll find that will change once Eddy comes on the scene. That'll be interesting. When does he arrive?
Will you post a picture of your new office so I can picture you sitting there 'talking' to us.
At the moment, Marten and I are reading a Christian fantasy fiction triology written by Donita K. Paul -- "DragonQuest", "DragonSpell" and "DragonKnight". I'm on book 1 and Marten's reading #2. We're really enjoying them.
Have fun on March Break. Ours starts next week.
Take care, Love Karen
Sounds fun! So... are YOU getting a new bed too? I love new beds, they are totally the best. I think you guys will have fun with the exchange student person. I would love to be with your family so... why wouldnt anyone else. Its only 10 weeks and you can keep telling yourselve that if you dont like it. As long as he is not like that Mandie girl that we had come to our house all those years ago. Can't get any worse than that. hehe. Love you oodles and hope you really enjoy your relaxing week. Im off to read too. I am reading Danger in the Shadows by Dee Henderson. good book also. :) Matt is reading his textbook and will forever dislike reading... poor guy doesnt know what he is missing.
Love Amanda
I agree, you'll have a great time with the exchange student. it's a good experience, and you learn much from eachother.
I had a little card making afternoon last Thursday. I made 3 cards and promptly sent them off to Mom, Damaris, and Caleb. I wanted to make more, but ran out of time. Perhaps next time I'm make some more for the others on my list. I just thought I'd let you know that you inspired me. :)
Love you and have a great day!

well whenver you are ready to get hooked onto LOST you just let me know and I will send season 1 2 and 3 your way and you can catch up on season 4 or perhaps by the time you finally finish those 60 hours of LOST you could try with season five on tv. although on dvd is better...the cliff hangers really irritate me, they also can be very depressing! Oh and I have blakc red and white by ted dekker, if you would like, I can send them to you to borrow, they are only collecting dust on my shelf, andI was going to read them, but amanda just convinced me to order a "deal" on cbd and now I have a pile of romance novels 12 to exact.
Let me know, Id be more than happy to send them your way! Love, Dianna
I just read amandas comment, I definelty hope that you dont get a "Mandy" "mandy's" arent very fun and the only two things I remember about her was that she said she was gonig to throw up and all that she did was complain, and that she was going to abandon ship 20 miles from land and swim back..Joey even said he would pay her 20 bucks to throw up, and so she tried to throw up the rest of the trip,it kept her occupied, bu she only ended up getting a couple of spits into the sea, and then she tried to catch an animal by setting s "booby trap" (consisting of sticks in a tree with a string hanging down) and then tried to convince mom she need a piece of steak for it to be successful, the only thing she mangaged to get out of mom though was a piece of balogna...thats probablly why it didnt work, wrong meat, so my advice to you is dont take the poor guy fishing (you might end up hating fishing, thats why mom does..i blame mandy for that one!), and dont give him meat if he tries to set up a booby trap, its just a waste of a perfectly good piece of balony.
Love Dianna
Hi Tetcy, glad you had fun on PEI and that you had a good trip home. And then to be welcomed by supper? Just great. Way to go Ray and support team.
