It's All Good....

Tuesday morning and Little Lambs was so much fun, we just weren't ready for the moms to come at 11:00!! So they had to wait for us. Next week is already our last week and it is kind of sad to see the season come to an end. What'll I do with my Tuesday mornings!?

Yesterday Craig had a PD day and we did the Spring cleanup around the rental properties. It was a nice day to be out and about. We started our day with a welcome assembly at the school. I had the car so it was nice to be able to attend that. We also had an informal session with the Keystone supervisor afterwards which cleared up a few questions. People seem desperate for Korean recipes, but the cookbook I have was already at school. I just took it home again. We have been eating regular North American food. Last night I announced that we would have spaghetti and Eddy said, "Yeay!!" He has been exposed to Western food, but grew quite excited when he spotted Korean noodle cups in the cupboard. Joe, Ed and I went to Food Basics for ground beef and some fruit and Eddy proceded to show us how to find the perfect watermelon. He and Joe went through both pallet crates of watermelon to find THE ONE! It was fine and made a great snack for lunch today.

So things are going well. Sleep is good and there appears to be little homesickness. He looked up what time it was in Korea and he laughed when he found that at our time, 9:00PM, it was 6:00AM, so he was going to bed in the morning. I suspect that some of the kids are having trouble with the time change but will adjust soon. It is Eddy's 3rd trip abroad, and for some of the students...their 5th and even 7th time, but for some...their FIRST time. Many tears in those households and not much sleep yet, or eating! We are quite fortunate this time around.

I am doing some laundry and am planning to finally get into my studio space and do a little rearranging! I'm so excited. I have gone in there from time to time to just hold my new ribbon and flowers up to the pad of paper I bought in Port Huron, when I was shopping with Helina. I had so much fun both of those times. I do have really fun and kind friends here. I also have a sweet lady to teach Little Lambs with. We always have nice visit and contemplate life on one level or another.

Later I have to open the church for the Parkinson's support group and might as well clean the sanctuary while I am there, so that's a job done. Then I can squeeze in an extra job on Thursday morning when I will have the car. I can put car-requests in on Sunday nights when the carpool schedule is being planned for the week. I guess I won't get into the paper and flowers after all...but I just HAD to update y'all. It is nice and sunny again, a bit on the cool side, but nice in the sun. I have to stroll down to church, I already have my cart upstairs, the radio in place (Craig is borrowing my earphones, so I don't have an MP3...), and the CD is ready to spin. It is really cool to get back to good old fashioned cranked tunes, where you hear the music through your whole space instead of just in your head. Although I'm sure that wouldn't be conducive to a space that you share with a studying spouse....or upstairs neighbours for that matter.

My ring is fixed again...I'm surprised to find out how little it cost. It turns out that it's the gold that makes my ring so expensive and not so much the stones. Although I guess it depends on the size of your rock.....


PS- Craig has had three soccer tryouts and has made the competitive team for his age group in soccer. There are several levels and his team moved up to the Premier level while they played Intermediate last year. The next level is Elite and their team can move up if they finish first in their division. Last year they finished first in their division and the top finishing teams move up to Premier with them, while the top three Premier teams have moved up to Elite. THis keeps the competition fairly even, and gives them a more intense level of competition. I can't say I enjoy being a spectator at the these events, since a lot of the parents take it way too seriously....but it is neat to see Craig so excited. He didn't make the school team. Over 50 kids tried out and usually only one ninth grader is chosen. Soooo....now he will have a manageable life.....I think. This weekend is the year end tournament for Reach for the Top, and it is being held in London at a university campus. Joey is going to Cadet-O-Ree across town. They will be racing their Kubcars as part of the festivities, a highlight for the boys every year. Eddy and I will hang out here, and go to London tot he Asian food store with a friend whose boys are also both at Cadets. So we'll have a fun trip to town. Eddy reads all the store front names out loud in English....so it'll be fun to drive through London with him.

Oh...that's a big PS...Life is never boring here....

Whirlywind....

Today is the day we've been gearing up for. Late tonight we will head to the airport for Eddy. We're so excited. What a busy day it had been to get everything ready, but....ready it is!

We moved Joe downstairs. He spent all morning getting his room JUST so. And we cleaned his bedroom up and it is empty and ready. It would have boggled your mind to see the before and after of that disaster area. So nice now!!!

We also raked the yards, and cleaned the flower beds at church. I raked the flower beds around the house during the week. What a great way to soak in the sun! It was such nice weather here!! The boys wore their shorts to school a few days! That's good because we are running out of pants that are long enough! Joe needed new school shoes yesterday, he's been walking around with his toes curled for too long now...wouldn't want that to become permanent....ouch!

And.....I had such a fun outing last night! A friend won VIP tickets to Scrapfest in Kitchener.... We had soooooo much fun! VIP tickets were only available on a limited basis and there were only about 400 women in the arena marketplace. Today it is open to the public. What COOOOL things to see and make and buy! As VIP's we each got a goodie bag full of things too! That was fun! The drive there and back was great too, we had a great visit, with lots of laughs.

Now I just want to go and play in my studio...but that day is not upon me yet...so until peace reigns in this household once again, I will just daydream and jot down the ideas as they come.

Spring Stuff...

Yesterday our church hosted the annual Spring Fling. This event consists of a Youth Group breakfast, a GEMS yard sale, and a Cadet fertilizer sale. We made almost a thousand dollars!! The weather was beautiful! And after the whole thing was over I cleaned the church.

At night we had the school Spring Dinner, which was themed, a Taste of Portugal. We had a Portuguese singer and later there were folk dancers. The food was really good too! We went with friends of ours but whole families could go too. Maybe we'll bring the boys next time, maybe not...it's fun to just go with grownups too!

And I found people to help with the school Spring Drive, which is a fundraising drive we hold each year. Someone was working on it but had to step back due to a family emergency. So I either had to start calling again and lose time or just pick it up and get it going. I started out with prayer because this felt like a really big job. Especially because the kickoff date is Wednesday and four captains still had to be found, their packages put together, and letters written to put in the packages. I still had a day and a half of work ahead of me, a shopping trip planned, and the Spring Fling to clean up after. I asked two people to find two captains for me and I found the other two. I was so amazed...but that's what happens when God is on the job. It is so energizing to not panic, to think straight and get everything done. All four captains were found, they will find canvassers in their congregations, and they have their packages in their hands. AND....the laundry is caught up!

So it is a beautiful Sunday full of sunshine today. Ray is now jogging, but was sitting out on the deck earlier. It is 18 degrees on the patio. I sure hope it doesn't warm up to fast because then the crocuses and their friends will only last such a short time!!! I better rake their little blanket of leaves off before they get tooo tall.

I had a fun time shopping with my friend Helina, she was looking for a dress for her grandson's wedding and found one. I found a few things, mostly at Hobby Lobby! 8D I found a pad of My Mind's Eye paper. 180 sheets for 19.99! Of the same paper I had with me in PEI, only now I have 3 sheets of 60 designs each...the whole series. So that's super cool. I also got some metallic ink, glue dots, alphas (of course) and a stamp.... It was a fun trip and we had supper at Denny's two tables away from the smoking section. We almost burst out laughing when they asked...smoking or non....it just sounded so foreign.

SO that's about it for today.
I have a room to paint this week because Eddy is c0ming Saturday at midnight! We are so excited!! The drywalled wall is ready for primer and I think I will slap that on tomorrow morning before I clean at church. We have a funeral on Tuesday but we can still squeeze in Coffee Break and Little Lambs before that all happens. I don't anticipate too much work for the rest of the week but that is good because I really need to put my house back in to "array". (isn't that the opposite of disarray....)
