A Little Walleye

My beloved loves to fish. He doesn't always catch anything but he still loves to fish. Actually...he claims that sometimes the fish just aren't biting. K? On the top of his list of things to look forward to on our trip, was fishing the pristine waters of Wabakimi.  He figured that there would be an abundance of fish which should increase the probablity of catching something.
The main focus of the trip of trail reconnaisance: marking, measuring and clearing portage trails, between lakes and around rapids and other obstacles.  There was also work to on the campsite: campsites had to be inventoried and  cleared, firewood cut and stacked (just so), fireplaces built, blueberries sourced, ....you get the idea. It WAS busy but anytime there wasn't any work to do, he would make a few casts...and sometimes would even catch something.   Nothing enormous, but at least photo worthy.
It was nice to have some alone time for one's self.  I think I brought a book but I don't remember it.  I took a lot of photos...and those become the memories that remind me of the moments.  How the best time for fishing is just as the sun dips behind the tree tops and the shadows creep over the water.

So I love it that he got to do what he was anticipating so much. Relaxing. Casting.

You know...not sitting at a desk.
