Sights of the Season

There are few things quite as festive as a bit of snow for Christmas.    6 Snow days worth, right before the holidays,  is probably a little much, but we'll take it!   Snow days mean sledding at Sprucedale and  giant, warm sandwiches. Joe improvises with his sausage-on-a-bun after he discovered that we only had kaiser buns in the freezer. I took the snow pics this past Monday, our first real day of snow. Craig is shoveling and Blixie is helping.  She loves to play in the snow.   I decorate a little bit for the holidays...   But... one of my favourite bits of holiday spirit is a huge raisin bread given to me every year.  I cut it up, freeze it, and make it last as long as I can. Toasted with Dutch spiced gouda...mmmmm.   Tastes like love to me!

What makes the holidays festive for you?

You guys have more snow then us! It is going to rain here next week to the tune of about 40 mm. A Nor'easter.
Imagine if that would come in snow form, we would be sledding.....maybe in the woods.
My festive favorite? When the kids come home and we can spend time together. Love it!!!

The raisin bread is homemade by Jerry, my friend Marianne's hubby. I love it that they love me!
